Reading Two People Without Predicting Their Future
What a harmony reading does — and the three things it refuses to do
A harmony reading takes two dates and describes the interaction between them: which habits reinforce, which ones cancel, and where the friction is structural rather than personal. It is a description of a mechanism, not a forecast.
It refuses three things. It will not tell you whether a relationship will last. It will not tell you who is at fault. And it will not turn a conflict into a type mismatch, because most long conflicts are not mismatches — they are two reasonable habits running on incompatible clocks.
What it does instead is name the loop. One person reaches for speed when something goes wrong; the other reaches for certainty. Neither is wrong, and together they produce a familiar shape: the faster one feels blocked, the careful one feels rushed, and both conclude the other does not care.
Once the loop has a name, it stops being a character judgement. You can then do the unromantic work: decide who moves first in which situation, and say it out loud before the next incident rather than during it.
The same caution as everywhere else on this site applies. This is a language for paying attention to someone, not a substitute for talking to them. If a reading ever replaces a conversation, it has failed at the only job it had.
